Heather ... "Wisteria"

Wisteria began belly dance instruction in 2001 after discovering Tribal Style at a Domba performance.

"I found the control, the energy, and the ethnic look of their performance so moving and intoxicating, that I immediately pursued classes.  The most rewarding aspects that belly dance has brought into my life are of immense personal growth and a sense of community.  The diversity of experiences and self expression that this dance creates, allows me and other women to discover our strengths. I feel blessed to have belly dance in my life as well as the fabulous friends that this dance has brought to me."

Wisteria believes that performing and teaching belly dance allows us to promote a positive image of women to our community.  Wisteria has been a member of Troupe Shuvani since 2003.

Kim ... "Surya"

Surya reluctantly took her first tribal belly dance class at the relentless urging of a friend in 2002 and was hooked immediately!  After 4 years of persistence and dedication she was inducted into Troupe Shuvani in October of 2006.   "The beauty, grace and grounded unity that tribal belly dance evokes among a small group of women is awe inspiring!  The sisterhood of this dance is the best part! But I have to admit I love playing dress-up too!  Coming up with costuming ideas and finding old authentic relics and jewelry from far away tribes has become an all-consuming past-time. I just love everything there is that encompasses authentic tribal-style belly dance."
